Currently, three additional cottages have been constructed and the college is appealing to individuals, groups of individuals, and congregations to financially sponsor the construction and furnishing of the cottages.  The cost of furnishing a cottage is $15,000.  The cottages will be named for those who sponsor cottage construction and the rooms of the cottages will be named for those who furnish them.  Memorial gifts in honor of loved ones are also recommended, and the cottages and cottage rooms will bear their names, if desired.

And Still We Build

Southwestern Christian College

Terrell, Texas

Another great need for Southwestern Christian College’s development is the construction of an Administration Building Annex in order to adequately house administrative staff and the necessary resources to aid the college in upward mobility.  The college is seeking donors who will assist in raising funds to construct and furnish the building.  The rooms and offices will be named for individuals, groups, and congregations who furnish them.  Memorial gifts are encouraged, and the names of passed loved ones will appear on plaques inside the building if desired.

“...and still we build” the Administration Annex so that we may be more empowered to build the lives of our students.

“...and still we build’ the four-plex cottages so that we may build the lives of our students, which in turn will make a difference in society and in the church.

Will you help us build so we can attract more students and proactively serve them, preparing them to be Christian scholars and servants and productive citizens?

Building Buildings to

Build Christian Character

Make a Commitment in the

Lives of Our Students and

Future of Our College.

From its inception in 1950, Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas, has been building buildings in order to BUILD THE LIVES of students.  Having purchased the facilities of the Texas Military College, which were already old, the college has struggled through lack of sufficient finances to build an infrastructure that could adequately serve the needs of its students and to meet the standards of its regional accrediting association.

While the college is accredited and has met the minimum needs of its students, its greatest need today is to have more adequate and substantial student residences.  In order to fulfill this need, a Master Facilities Plan was prepared which would provide construction of nine four-plex cottages.  One cottage was recently constructed with funds provided by the J.S. Winston Sound Doctrine Foundation.  Also, in collaboration with the college, the Foundation provided for the utility infrastructure of the entire project.
